Way higher work ethic back then. Like Doz said in some interview a long time back, he always put emphasis on how he treated his bb career as a job. Probably why he destroyed the competition so hard. He had a hard workers mentality. Same with Ronald Dean Coleman, he came from a hard working background and applied that mentality to his bodybuilding career. Imagine if a prime Levrone would have had the same mentality?

Nowadays most bodybuilders comes off a lazy bums, putting their holes out for hire to pay the bills.
