CHRIS BUMSTEAD Gets 4 Page Spread in MD Magazine.
« on: September 27, 2016, 10:19:19 AM »
Canada's youngest IFBB Pro bodybuilder, Chris Bumstead, got a 4 page spread in MD magazine (this month??) which is pretty damn impressive for a 21 or 22  year old competitor who was never heard of until a year or two ago.

I believe that Chris is the youngest IFBB bodybuilding Pro now but I am not positive if he is the youngest of all time.

He did manage to win  the 2016 North America heavy-weight class at a bodyweight of 224 if I recall correctly at the age of 21 (or was it actually 22?).

I have not seen nor read the MD magazine article but I did see it on  his Instagram 'page' which is simply a series of the magazine photographs so there is no mention of his future competitive plans .....

But as I've stated earlier ... Chris just might be the type of bodybuilding competitor that would satisfy the majority of GetBiggers who think that the thick waistline and bulging stomachs are destroying professional competitive bodybuilding.

But ...... In today's 'game' can Chris actually do well as an IFBB professional bodybuilder or would the CLASSIC event be more advantageous for his future competitive plans?

It's somewhat obvious to me that  he has the ability to gain a massive amount of muscle  way beyond his NA wining bodyweight of 224 pounds if he ever decided to sacrifice his present day genetics ....

And that would likely seem to be his intent after the excitement of receiving his IFBB Pro Bodybuilding  card at such an early age.

I'm never positive about an individual's future competitive plans but I think that he would have to exceed a bodyweight of  240+ to stand out among the others and be impressive in any of today's IFBB pro events.

His decision regarding his next competitive event (Classic BB or plain old  BB) will be interesting to observe as there are a good number of contenders within the US who will have to make a similar decision now that there are three professional IFBB paths available.

Chris, if  you are an avid GetBigger (I think not!)... please respond as to your future competitive plans (if any).

Would anyone care to take a guess to see which IFBB contender could possibly win the overall in all three IFBB divisions? (Possibly a  trifecta contest over time with a decent cash award.)

EL, i hate all attempts at being funny but  "DAG would."

That is the ultimate limits of my sick sense of humor.

Now for the more serious shit .....

MILONE... Chris recently won the heavywt class at the somewhat prestigious North America Bodybuilding contest up in Canada someplace which earned him an IFBB pro card at at the age of 21 (or was it 22?).

This was pretty damn impressive to me because I come from the old days when "functional' muscle was so damn important over the mass monster appearance (stated with all due respect) and Chris appears to be a functional muscle kind of individual without the protruding gut that most GetBiggers seem to despise (and rightfully so .... with all due respect of course).

So you decide ... Here's Chris upon winning the NA Heavyweight class. Should he continue to compete as a IFBB bodybuilder or should he go the Classic route instead?

Give me a second. I gotta search for his photo.

I've never seen/heard him claim natty.
I've been following him for a little while now, he's got a damn good physique, and as young as he is, he'll hopefully improve on what he's got. His structure is pretty much perfect.

LOL, that thing above is 21?

Impressive physique but face looks like 30 at least. He will look like pensioner when he really is 30.

I guarantee you that the bullying and teasing he faced as a kid over that last name was the primary reason he took up lifting.

WANNABE, Those are two great shots of Chris.

A few questions for ya:

Was Chris 21 or 22 when he won the NA SuperHeavy Class? Not a real important questions though. Still one of the youngest competitors to get an IFBB Bodybuilding Pro Card.

What's his height? This one is important if he ever chooses to go into Classic Physique.

Do you think his future is in Classic Physique or bodybuilding?

He would have to be a hell of a lot 'larger' to compete among today's Oly type contenders.

Agree or not?

Many within the industry think that this is the look of bodybuilding's future but I personally think that things will remain the same within  the upper echelons of the 'game' within the IFBB .

S0 it could be possible that his best decision may be Classic Physique.

Or simply get back to the safe and saner levels of Powerlifting which could prove  to be a big loss for the IFBB.
