I remember Shawn Ray always pushed for the Ironman Pro to pay more.  And then the Ironman Pro was no more after 2009.  :-X

The point is, bodybuilders get paid based on how much money they generate.  It's not about how hard they work - if it was, female bodybuilders would get paid as much as male bodybuilders.  They don't, because female bodybuilders don't generate as much money as male bodybuilders.

I get Shawn's point, but ultimately, pushing the Ironman Pro for more money is probably something that collapsed it.

IronMan Magazine photographer Mike Neveux would set up the lighting at that show. That's why they had such great lighting.

The Ironman Pro only paid 10k to the winner, and that was for years. And it was a week or two before the Arnold, which steadily increased pay for all. And since the Ironman was the typically the first bbing show of the season, and due to its small pay out, competitors like Flex would use it as a pre-quel for the Arnold.
