I really appreciate all the nice words. Thank you very much.My lifts in pounds were-Squat 540... That was my 3rd and final attempt.Bench Press 319... That was my 3rd and final attemptDeadlift 600... That was my opening attempt. Jumped to 644 on my 2nd attempt which should have been doable but missed. I passed my 3rd attempt.Total 1459.I have had total rotator cuff reconstruction surgery THREE times in the last four (4) years so my shoulders are extremely "fragile", thus the very marginal bench press. Was happy with the squat. Could have done better in the DL... but was still OK with my 600 pull. I competed in the "Classic Raw" division. Knee sleeves are allowed but no knee wraps. No super suit. No bench shirt of any type. The IPL is not drug tested. The IPF is (supposedly) drug tested. I compete in the USPA & IPL. I wish everyone the best with their training.
Hi guys- There were a few questions.. so here come a few answers...-Stunt, I had never met Gus prior to last weekend in Vegas. He is a legend in the sport and it was a real thrill to meet him. Many great stories were exchanged! -As concluded, my close hand spacing and "tucked" position on the bench press is an attempt to save my shoulders. I train at Super Training Gym with Mark Bell and that technique is what we came up with. When I bench press, I try to "protect my armpits". The thumbless grip allows me to rotate my hands inward while trying to keep my elbows tucked in. Right now my shoulders are pain free, just fragile. -My all time PR's in competition took place a long long time ago. Squat... 766Bench... 551Dead.... 755Total... 2,072At a bodyweight of 272, while competing in the 275 pound class. USPF raw. A long time ago.Bodybuilding or powerlifting... you guys keep training hard and get on stage or on the lifting platform!
