I am thinking as far as the recent election and Hillary Clinton. The election of Trump seems to have triggered a euphoric relief that a white man, without any real substance or qualifications for the job, has won the presidency. Let's put aside for now the obvious "whitelash" in some quarters of white America - not ALL - that insecurity and frustration of "being under Black rule" brought out into the open.

It's the hardship of securing a stable life these days.

Jobs are basically all temporary - this is probably the biggest issue. You don't know if you are able to afford a house in a year from now.

It's not "women putting career ahead of family" per se. Most of the successful women have a kid or few.
For sure women don't want to be dependent on men. They probably have never wanted. In that sense they are putting "career ahead of family". Not that it changes anything; men are in many places more likely to end up as unemployed than women. Men can't afford a family any more than women can.


And of course: requirements for the men have grown so high that very few women ever find a man they would want a family with.
This is a taboo but absolute truth.
