The only reason the 98 Olympia was close was because Ronnie was overlooked in the first round. He scored 17, Flex 5 and Nasser was 10 I think.

Ronnie then got straight 5's for 3 rounds and Flex got straight 10's. So it was 35 to 32 but Ronnie won 3 rounds with straight firsts.

Also Ronnie's waist seemed to be small enough in 2005, he just needed to keep coming in around 260 and it would have been fine but he didn't diet down far enough in later years.

2005 he actually looked decent, he looked better in the finals than he did in '04.

Ronnie has always maintained 1998 Mr Olympia was the best he's ever looked.

Genetic freaks like that are very rare like once every 50 years or more rare. Dorian changed the Paradigm and essentially ushered the obsession with size and dryness that dominates BB today but Ronnie was something we hadn't quite seen before and honestly haven't seen since. I am not a fan of post 80's BB'ing but I gotta give Ronnie his due, he was a monster.
