Poor Ronnie... even at his worst his back still looks better than Jay's "Rear loose skin spread".

Love Nether Animal threads!  In my mind, they are a close second to the threads started by "Tunza Muscle".

I was at the 2007 Mr. Olympia, and it was clear that he was gifted 4th place.  That being said, I think he could have been 5th with no major complaints.

He stayed on gear from the time of the 2006 Mr. Olympia rather than taking the normal few months off to clean out.  He was a man on a mission.  The only thing is - that hurt him.  Had he showed up looking as he did in 2006, he could have possibly been deserving of a legitimate 2nd place, after Victor Martinez, who was the rightful winner in my mind - and in the mind of Ronnie Coleman.  I would have probably had Dennis Wolf in 2nd though.  If not Dennis, then Dexter Jackson.  Jay Cutler had no business winning that contest.  He was probably good for 4th, just before Ronnie.

Great thread, NA.

He always stayed on gear, problem was his body was shot at that point and all the injuries were coming on

Can't be the best without putting it all on the line.

I don't think we will ever see another freak like Ronnie. It's sad seeing him in his current state. Really did die for us bitches.

These were the pictures that Ron took of Ronnie in 2004, that I mistakenly thought were from the Arnold Classic weekend, and could swear looked like Ronnie was off gear when I originally saw them in 2004.  I guess Ronnie was just nowhere near how he looked at the 2003 Mr. Olympia, but still on gear.  However, I think he was on more at the time after the 2006 Mr. Olympia.  If I am not mistaken, he did not take his normal 3-4 months off to let his joints hear after the 2006 Mr. Olympia.  Here are the post Olympia shots of Ronnie:

I wish the IFBB wasn't so political and people actually won on their merits not on some off stage political leaning bullshit. Dennis Wolfe should have won this Mr Olympia, no doubt in my mind he deserved it on merit alone but because at that point he was an untested entity they didn't give it to him but a soft, droopy looking Jay. Bit like Ramy now, I think he deserves to win but due to politics....mot yet.

He had a back injury which caused nerve damage, which led to certain muscles atrophying mainly on his left side.

He had a back injury which caused nerve damage, which led to certain muscles atrophying mainly on his left side.

Caused by bursitis from his 2005 Mr. Olympia collapse, ironically.

The injury was visible in his "On the Road" DVD by GMV.com.au.  Yet not visible at the 2005 Mr. Olympia.

So yeah, it happened during his victory collapse, as if he was shocked to win #8, and needed to collapse.  ;D ::)

Ronnie wrote that to a forum member of Muscle Mayhem back in the day.  To think that collapse potentially cost him his 9th Mr. Olympia.  Although perhaps 2006 would have gone to Jay anyway.  The IFBB was probably getting tired of the "Ronnie wins again" story, and Jay looked good in 2006.  Ronnie was close to his 2003 and 2004 form in 2006, aside from his left side atrophy.

Jay was on point in '06, but Ronnie probably should have still won it.

I thought he said it was from squatting, he heard a loud popping sound and realised it was from his back.

Hm...that wouldn't explain his triceps though.  I just assumed the bursitis affected his entire left side.
