Enthusiasm and interest of IFBB pro contests?
« on: January 10, 2017, 06:32:11 AM »
For the past 10 years, my interest and enthusiasm of IFBB pro events has waned.
I'm not sure why exactly, but I suspect I'm not alone in my loss of interest.
I used to be excited to learn who won and placed well in the Olympia.

I used to look forward to attending events as a fan and walking around the Arnold expo.
Now, I really don't care about it. I'm not upset ,pissed off or wanting to protest .
I still think some aspects of pro contests are cool, but over I don't have much interest now? WTF?

Oh, well things change and life goes on.

Same.
For me this is due to lack of interesting competitors.

That may have something to do with it?
For me it's the lack of any pre contest hype with legit rivalry.

Maybe it's all the dumb and boring  stuff that pros post on social media???

Kevin Levronne,  last competed in 2001 and generated more excitement and ended up tied for 15th place,
That makes me wonder about the current crop of pros with fans?
Is it them as bodybuilders? Their personality? The physiques?
Or, is it  the overall attitude and environment of pro shows now?

Nah you are just getting old and senile very soon the only interest you will have left is to figure out how to stop your balls from falling out of your shorts.

Can't imagine why they'd be of any interest unless you're an active competitor or serious schmoe

I'm past that point and no longer care if my nut sac hangs  loose as it swings in the breeze. ;)

If it were just me that lost interest I'd chalk it up to being older .

Yes, and not just the contests. The contestants, fans, and schmoes.

My theory is that you were young and stupid, and loved a stupid "sport". Now you're old and less stupid (still stupid just less) you are no longer in awe with men in thongs...as I would imagine you have other elements in your life which bring you some satisfaction eg your 7th wife, the doc tickling your prostate once in a while and Getbig.

The above is a point I'm making in a sarcastic way...don't get angry or take it personal.

Yup, things change as time marches on.
If you're not careful time marches across your face. ;D

I actually feel a twinge of guilt for posting I'm not that into pro BB now.
Part of me feels that I need to make a pilgrimage to the Arnold expo and blow the Mayor of BB. ;D

Seriously, I've been watching a variety of big league pro sports in recent years.
The coverage and excitement of: NHL, NFL, EPL soccer, etc, is awesome.

I still admire and respect modern freaks like Dallas McCarver and Flex Lewis (212).
I'm just s tired of having to travel and spend $$  to attend the actual shows.
