Actually at my age a two door SUV seems like a bad idea. No back seat? If so two doors would suck

Notice the small Diesel that's being offered on the F150 (3.0 liters).  Why not a 3.5 or 4.0 liter so you can tow some serious weight.  They don't want to step on the F250's toes and give people a more affordable option.

The ecodiesel is not being made to tow heavy, they are being made to get great fuel mileage. The RAM 1/2 ton is the only small diesel right now and it's getting all the market share. If I was doing a fleet of service trucks that would be my choice.

Even though new 1/2 ton trucks have a higher GVWR than older 3/4 tons you still need the right tool to tow heavy. I've occasionally towed a bobcat or a tow behind crane lift with my V8 F-150 - but If you have a 5th wheel full of horses to haul or a 35ft camper on the interstate you better have the money for a proper truck to haul it.

That's not what the new Bronco is goint to look like? Why not?
It's a render that was done by someone and it's been floating around. People also speculated that the Bronco would be based on the Ford Everest, which is not a US model.

The new Bronco will never look that cool and neither will the new Jeep pickup. Crash and bumper height standards add the fugly factor.

In Europe a diesel car is normally about 1000 usd more expensive than a gas one. I don't understand why diesel pick up trucks are what, 5 to 10,000 usd more expensive than gas powered ones?

That F-150 is going to be awesome when I pay 15k for one in 5 years with 60k on the clock. 50-60k new ain't gonna happen.

Profits margins on small cars are just a few hundred bucks.

On large simple ladder frame SUV's and pickup trucks profit margins are immense, often more than 10,000 usd
