COOL THE PADS!!

As a summer announcement I return to inform or remind people that the best way to cool down an overheated dog is through the pads on their feet.  Cool water, cold water bottles, whatever.  Dogs don't sweat, so cooling down their pads is the fastest way to cool them down.   

This may come in handy with your own dog (a couple inches of cool water for them to stand in) or a dog you find in severe distress due to the heat.  Cool the pads and seek veterinary assistance ASAP in a crisis situation!

a dogs butthole and sphincter are up to 3 times more sensitive that are his or hers paws so maybe instead and having a dog stand in water maybe you should just have him or her sit down in it ...
