Steve Stanko. I remember I used to train with Stanko and Wes back in the day. Dude was STRONG! Wes used to look at his glutes every chance he got.

Stanko was definitely underrated.  Politics cost him a few Olympia.  Should have beaten Yates in 97.

The guy was a serious strength athlete. Way stronger that the top 10 Olympia contenders today and much more athletic.

I couldn't imagine any of the top 10 Olympia contenders having the power to clean and jerk 400lbs.

We should get Vince Goodrum, CSN, MFT, HHP, CEO, to contact Steve.

Btw, I'm more impressed with this dudes chest and arms in that 2nd/middle pic than any juiced up bodybuilder.

Btw, this guy isn't that impressive anyways. Not much bigger than me (especially in the 3rd pic) and I have him beat in "conditioning".
I also don't have the 1940's testosterone advantage like he did + only lift for about 2 hours a week these days too.
So if I had 30 or so % more test and lifted for the usual 4 hours a week, I'd own the fossil twink in a thong battle.

stanko was the first weightlifter to total 1000 lbs in the 3 lifts..unfortunately he did it in a non olympic year, and was soon done in by phlebitis.he then turned more to bodybuilding.
