That's how economics works.  If nobody wants to do a job they have to pay more.  That's why garbage men are paid well.  What makes you think people picking fruit should only be paid minimum wage.  The labor market is what determines wages.  The fact that there are illegal aliens mean the farmers don't have to pay any more than minimum wage and that's why only 30 percent of their workers are legal.

My argument is with justifying illegal immigration so farmers don't have to pay more for field workers.  especially considering many of these farms are actually large corporations.

So CA imports 12,000,000 illegal immigrants to harvest crops. Then the water runs out and the cost for Ag becomes so high farming drops by 80% and moves to another state. When the beaners follow the lettuce to Oregon, Texas, Whoknows, who pays the tab then?

This is about votes, nothing more.

Monsanto cares more about Mexicans than the Democrat Party

That's really not how it works.  Garbage men aren't paid well.  Neither are janitors, landscape workers, dishwashers, farm workers because they are unskilled laborers.  It's not a simple answer of paying more.  That's a total fallacy. It's the physical demands of the job that keeps people away.  Most farmworkers in the field make 10-12 an hour.  I could double that and I'm not going to have Americans lining up the consistent 6-7 days a week i need them in the field working.  Just isn't going to happen.  Many have tried and failed miserably.  Just because big farms are "large corporations" doesn't mean their immune from losing money.  Huge sums of money at that.  The answer is a reasonable guest worker plan that can bring the people in legally to perform these jobs that Americans are never going to do again.  Unless you want to think out of the box and make prisoners do it or turn off welfare and think they're going to come out and work.

Reading news like this is like being high with no drugs needed. So there is NOW fear in the immigrant community? They should've been scared all along!

Americans are going to be short on Mexican housekeepers. Who's going to do the dishes now?

This is just the beginning. THREE executive orders are being written to address those pesky "Ratas" that have overstayed their welcome.

Deal with it.

My only question really is about certain jobs being done.

Rumor has it that a lot of gardeners and handyman types have disappeared.

If all of them are gone, there are some jobs that people can take on if they want to stop the unemployment rate.

I agree. I hope people take this opportunity to lower the UE rate.

Lots of mexican food restaurants in my neck of the woods (TexMex) will be in need of staff/cooks as well.  That's the only way the mass deportations will hurt me... my stomach.

However, more good news today:

ICE arrests 161 in Los Angeles-area operation targeting criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants & immigration fugitives

Read somewhere today that at least 70-90% of these illegals , depending which sources you want to cite, are convicted felons. Why aren't they thrown out of the fucking country once convicted?? The courts have them RIGHT THERE when passing sentencing or judgement. Why not 'You're guilty and illegal, now fuck off'?

They convict these people then let them go?  ???
