Sweaty and Stoned - Power Plant Fitness premiere
« on: February 25, 2017, 02:08:50 PM »
To understand what inspires Jim McAlpine, a fit and exuberant 46-year-old, you must conjure an image of the American stoner. Are you picturing someone heavy-lidded, couch-bound, and struggling to make an animated GIF of that Big Lebowski scene without knocking his bong off the coffee table? That stereotype drives McAlpine crazy, and he’s made it his mission to change it. This spring, the surfer, skier, and weed lover will open the world’s first cannabis fitness center in San Francisco.

Power Plant Fitness will be a premier gym, McAlpine says, not just a hangout for potheads. Though, to be clear, there will be weed. He’s still hammering out the details, but McAlpine envisions offering cannabis performance assessments, in which trainers help determine how the plant can help an athlete work out before guiding them through weed-assisted fitness plans. In addition, McAlpine hopes, members will be free to buy and consume cannabis on site, including Power Plant’s own line of edibles, which he says are “made for pre-workout focus and post-workout recovery.”

This actually sounds like a great idea lol!
I just can't see how it can be used pre workout tho. Anytime I used to smoke weed, and I know the route of administration has changed over the years, I wouldn't be in the mood for working out that's for sure.

I know when I used to smoke and lift I would be so focused and in a zone like no other.Nowadays I'll eat weed not smoke it and once in a while I'll eat some and just do barbell curls endlessly cause it feels so good and I'm pretty much in a trance.

Years ago i had a couple employees who were potheads (one was a manager the other a clueless vegan personal trainer who was raised by his sisters). Theyd workoutbstoned and kept telling me about how great thenqorkouts were and how it helped with appetite. (nevermind the fact they were 6'3" & 170lbs and 5'10" and 160lbs respectively) so i decide to go drop $80 on my medical card and get a gram of a couple different strains. 1 sativa (for training) 1 indica (for eating and sleep) and maybe 1 other, maybe a hybrid? I forget.

Anyways, training on that shit sucked. Was hit or miss for making me hungry, & when it did, i wanted bbq chips. Not chicken and potatoes. And for sleep? Fuck that. Closed my eyes and felt like i was doing backflips in outter space.

Fucking garbage.

The only strains i didnt mind were various Kush. Bubblegum, pineapple, etc...

Matter of fact i found an old gym bag about a week ago that had a bag of 6-7 jars of various strains that each had a lil less than a gram each. Shit was all probably 4yrs old. Mustve taken 2 hits of each and just forgot about it.

Just goes to show not all drugs agree with everybody. Never liked the "disconnected" feeling that shit gave me.

Definitely had the back flips in outer space before hahahah.yeah some things don't work for everybody that's for sure,I remember a good friend who was big into ocs gave me an oc 20 about 15 years ago and it made me sick for two days as I never liked pain killers.never was one for pills of any kind except Ativan I take 1mg of Ativan once a month just to completely relax and have no anxiety as xanax and klonipin were to strong when I tried them.

How does that work?

It can only be accomplished when one lacks a fear gene.
