AND .... I go back a few more years before WES's time and would like to add to what he had to say based on my personal experience.
WARNING....The following is not intended for those who don't like lengthy posts nor the factual history recall of one who was actually involved!
Once Upon a Time when the world was so much different .... roids were legal and easily accessible but the AMA (see above) said, "They do not work!!" .... And that was usually followed with some statement about Pablo's dog!
But .... Some doctors who lifted heavy things, but knew nothing about strength inducing chemicals, became good friends with others who lifted heavy things .... some of whom had read a Weider publication or two about little blue pills that would allow you to lift even heavier things and become bigger and stronger and faster and etc., etc., etc.
And it soon became evident that those pioneers who took those little blue pills became bigger and stronger and faster, etc., etc.,etc. than those who didn't.
Now back in those good old days .... there was no animosity among those who lifted heavy things and took those little blue pills to become bigger and stronger and faster and etc., etc., etc..... so there was no secrecy involved.
And since they were easy to get, everyone got 'em.
And everyone who got 'em, became bigger and stronger and faster, etc., etc.,etc.
And some doctors who lifted heavy things saw the difference that these little blue pills were making and began to do some research on their own with the help of those who wanted more than those little blue pills could offer.
And it soon became evident that the statement, "They do not work!" was entirely incorrect!
