The US government is going to bring the Grizzly back to where I live soon. Fortunately I am heavily armed when I go cutting fire
wood. Still, it makes me a little nervous.

Why might they be interested in doing this? In Europe it's the same with wolves.

Well so does the animals that the bear kills too.

It's for survival, not sport. I'm not a member of PETA or anything, I just don't get killing something like that for fun.  :-\

Yeah I heard the stories of wolves at night in Paris. Several years ago they invigorated both the wolf and grizzly population in Montana and I believe Wyoming. The wolf population has flourished and spread into Idaho and into Washington state. So much so that Washington state had to kill several packs of wolves here just recently.
It is my understanding from a somewhat conspiracy point of view as to why this is happening. The 2nd amendment. If you cannot directly attack the right to bear arms then go the long way around to do so. If you create an environment that is not hunter friendly then what you do is slowly break down the traditions that are passed down from one generation to the next. Bring in the wolf and grizzly population and protect them from hunting. Both of these superior predators eat the very thing men hunt, Dear. When the Dear populations is in contest between the protected animal and that of the human hunting it guess what. The hunter will be vastly limited by regulation from the government to discourage him from doing so. Slowly break the tradition of hunting and you slowly remove the largest gun ownership group this nation has. The government can do this anywhere and with any method at its means. This is only a theory but it makes a little sense to me.

Cases when a bear attacks a man with the intention of killing him are very rare. To be fair to us. Bears usually avoid the people, and  tourists usually make noise to announce bears that there are people nearby, and avoid unpleasant situations. When they suddenly wake up with people nearby, the bears can become aggressive, especially if there is the bear mom with cubs.

All predators kill for sport , That's how they hone their skills. house cats are vicious killers who kill 50% of the time just for sport.

This book scared the shit out of me when I read it.

Then this crazy fucker went and lived with them and is pictured reading the book. Of course we know how he ended up, sadly.

He was fine with the bears that he visited every year, even the mothers with their cubs. He stayed later in the season one year and a male who wasn't from the area, so to speak, ate him and his girlfriend. It was captured on audio. Grizzly Man was a decent flick.

And apparently, food was more scarce that year.
