HIALEAH, Fla. (CBS12) — Newlyweds from Georgia are accused of carjacking, kidnapping and raping a woman in South Florida while on their honeymoon.
Investigators say the crime happened a week ago Sunday at a Publix on 2nd Avenue in Hialeah, Florida. According to the arrest report, police said Rashada Horsley attacked and knocked out a woman who had just pulled her car out of a parking space.
The woman told police when she came to, she saw Horsley driving her car and a man, identified by police as Horsley's husband Timothy Lowe, in the car. She said Lowe choked and punched her.
Police said the suspects drove to a Motel 6 and sexually assaulted the woman. The woman told police the suspects became distracted and she managed to escape, according to the report.
Miami-Dade Police said the couple's crime spree came to an end a day later when authorities arrested the pair on unrelated charges of indecent exposure. Police said the two walked into a Walgreens store while in the buff. A short time later, the two tried to steal sodas from 7-Eleven. That's when police linked the couple to the kidnapping.
