The influence of the "deep state"?
« on: June 10, 2017, 09:57:01 AM »
Ok, there is this idea floating around now about
how the "deep state" is out to take Trump down.

This deep state is supposed to be composed of mid-level career
employees of the state dept and related intelligence services.

The current idea says this "deep state" is composed of
those career agency employees from the Obama admin ( 2009-2017).

This "deep state" is unlike dept heads and cabinet members and
work within these Gov agencies for 20-30 years ,while Presidents come and go.

Ok fair enough, maybe some mid level folks who came in with Obama
are anti-Trump.
If this is true, what about those that came in with W. Bush BEFORE Obama ( 2001-2008).
Wouldn't these folks be even more imbedded and wield greater influence then those hired later.

Maybe those hired when Clinton was POTUS ( 1993-2000) have more influence then either one of the later groups?

In fact, the oldest "deep state" employees working for 25 to 37 years would have been
hired during the Reagan - Bush 41 terms of 1981-1988.

Based on seniority and Washington connections made over the years, the longest serving
"deep state" employees would likely have the most influence right?

Ok, so why do most of the "deep state" theories only mention the Obama era hires? hmmmmm?

Perhaps, there are some 70+ yr old hired by Nixon still working within the "deep state". ;D

LOL clever reply to me but a bit too much "inside baseball" for an open forum.

My point was that possible "deep state" employees would have been hired during every Presidents tenure.
So, you'd have a variety of embedded employees rather then one monolith of ideology.
