Very Awkward moment at the 2006 Mr Olympia

Ronnie and Jay were told backstage that Jay won. Ronnie looked like he wanted the exit the stage. Jay did not want to look too celebratory (out of respect to Ronnie). And Lee Haney was onstage watching it unfold.

True, but Ronnie should have won that. I am convinced that they didn't want him to break Lee Haney's record, and wanted Jay to start a new legacy.

Hard to say. Ronnie's structure & overall shape was so much better than Jay, but Jay was in slightly better conditioning and had less problems controlling his gut.

Do you know why Coleman and Cutler were told who won prior to the official announcement? Is that the norm? It is clear that Coleman does not think he's going to win.

They said the same before Haney beat Arnold's record. Haney switched to Twin Labs , They'll never let him beat Arnold's record. What legacy did Jay have? Be won 4 and not even 4 in a row.

 I was told more than 2 weeks out that Jay was going to win and it wasn't a prediction.

I think that this was different. With Ronnie, I think that people in the know, knew that he wasn't gonna "just retire". Just like now he won't quite lifting weights.

In that short clip Jay looks far better than Ronnie
Ronnie's waist / guts look a mess.

Looks clear that Ronnie didn't think he was going to win.

Yep, he did. When Jay turned around, he had a square back, which still didn't have the detail that Ronnie did. Ronnie did have that torn lat and torn tricep. But if Dorian could win with a severely torn bicep...

Looking at pics I always thought Ronnie was a bit better. Watching video it looks like Jay won. Jays body language is better.

Surprised that Ronnie was not a gracious loser. Close contest but Ronnie was definitely beginning to deteriorate. Could have gone either way but for Ronnie the best was behind him.

Jay knew that he would be crowned King. As was said many times back then, Jay didn't beat Ronnie, Ronnie beat himself.

Ronnie looked way off at prejudging, which cost him.  He dried out at the finals, looking much better, but it was too late.  Injuries were also obvious as well.
