Crocodile tears for bodybuilders?
« on: August 23, 2017, 03:50:36 AM »
Don't ya just love when a drug boated behemoth dies in and because of the quest to get ever-increasingly bigger, every bodybuilding douchebag comes out of the wood work for adults who should have known better or was so arrogant and thought he would never fall victim! Every other jackass comes out with "condolences" and every bodybuilding, You Tubing jackass comes out with their takes to capitalize on a dead man's folly and to hear what a great guy he was. Yes, everyone knew him and he was a great guy by default even if we knew fuck all about him!

Meanwhile soldiers, law enforcers, blue collar workers, and others die defending or building shit for  others or even some men die at the hands of criminals, leaving loved ones behind and hardly anyone gives a flying fuck!

As some other posters exclaim: you play, you pay! Grown adults knowingly playing with death!

Because as a society, we prize sport players, actors, singers, more than we do the "average" person.

It's no surprise that when a famous person dies, people weep.

he should have quit when it became apparent he wouldn't be a top pro and his body couldn't stand the abuse.

i don't even think he's top 3 in the bodybuilding stage in the next life. nasser, sergio and serge all blow him away.

Children die everyday and people are concerning themselves with a man who essentially is responsible for his own death. Generation Nothingness.

It depends where.  People do give a fuck.  This is a bodybuilding board, an industry board - so when a top 10 Olympian competitor passes away, it is big news.  And when there are people who have met the person, talked to him, took pictures of him, related to him whether in stories, posts, expos or just saying hello, losing someone hurts.

That does not mean any less when a police officer loses his life, or a shoulder.  Out here when a police officer or firefighter loses his life, thousands and thousands of people related, offer condolences, even go and support. But not on this board, as this isnt a police forum, or a military forum, etc.  And yes,  it does go by how many people you knew, who you touched.

My uncle died a week ago. I was in the Israeli army for 6 years, and the American army for 8.  A respected solider who retired and served in the two countries he called home. One of the few. I honored him. My family honored him. His friends honored him. He is no less honorable than others. BUT - he did not know as many people, nor was is the public eye. Such is such.

Respect in passing away goes to all... except to freaking violent criminals that have hurt others.  Screw them.

Oh... my big fraternity brother died at age 19 - close to 30 years ago.  Jason.  One day he was there - the next day he was gone.  Enlarged heart, we learned a month or so later. We thought it was joint smoking... we didnt know.  I was stunned, as were my friends.  I still think of him sometimes, especially wondering why things happen, and how lucky some people are. Still honor him, even though he did not have a huge following.  Life is life.

Can't be so dim and negative of everything out there - it may eat you at the end, and you won't find any once of happiness or satisfaction.  Try and honor someone who was passed way, regardless of what they took, what they drove, etc

Come on Ron, some people met him at a fucking expo FFS.

All this fake outpouring for someone you don't even know is pathetic.

I have felt less gutted when a relative has died,

I absolutely agree but try to convince certain people of this and you never will.
