SCOTT, No ..... Ken Sprague sold Gold's while it was located on 3rd St (?) in Santa Monica and I don't believe he had anything to do with any of the others you mentioned.

I could be wrong though.

The "movie agency business" that  I was referring to only came about when Gold's moved to their present Venice location and was a legit enterprise while it lasted .... but those details have been long forgotten and hopefully some of the GetBig Gold Gym Venice members such as Beefy Heavyweight  may be able to elaborate.

DAVE D., I don't know Mike well enough to offer an intelligent answer as to why he has yet to make it big time in Hollywood motion pictures.

Here's one possible answer which Mike or anyone who knows him well may object to.

No intent to put down Mike here but it's possible that he is considered to be a Pretty Boy (respectfully stated) and some stars don't want anyone who looks better than themselves to be in their motion picture show.

For example ... Back in the years when Alan Ladd was major motion picture star .... He was short. How short? I don't know.

But he was supposedly short enough  that he had to stand on a box when it came time to kiss the leading lady or beat the shit out out of the bad guy in the town saloon.

So .... if you were over 5'8' you would  have a tough time getting cast in an Alan Ladd motion picture.

Such may be the case with Mike when it comes to looking better than the leading man who gets the leading lady in the end .

Or should I say, "At the end"!

That's too bad.  I heard that Kevin Levrone's acting chops made him a lock for the Forrest Gump remake.  He's landed the part of Lt. Dan (originally played by Gary Sinise)....

And flex wheeler was going to play bubba

Stunt, feeling the way you do about potential stars in the bb industry, why do think Mike OHearn hadn't been able to get a big break in Hollywood?

Because Kevin levrone is a much more impressive actor than mike ever was

PS to the above ...... In the past I have encouraged a good number of NPC male and female competitors to make an attempt to sign up with a reliable motion picture agency simply due to the fact that they physically resemble the super hero characters as the original comic book illustrators originally intended.

And it's easy to see the importance of super hero movies today!

But it's not easy to get signed by the WILLIAM MORRIS AGENCY ... In fact its very difficult but not IMPOSSIBLE and with this new found interest in competitive muscle events  and general interest in 'physical perfection' as seen throughout the internet ..... Hollywood will soon take notice and start searching for new faces, new bodies, new talent, etc.

I have recommended that a good number of impressive contenders do their best to get a reliable agency's interests ...... Especially a good number of the female contenders who can outclass and outlook the vast majority of today's major motion picture 'stars' .... but I have yet to see their faces on the  silver screen.

If I was going to start over I'd definitely build an agency representing the contenders who appear to have the potential to become a major motion picture star.

I believe that in the good old days .... Gold's Gym Venice had an office set up to represent various gym members for motion picture work. If anyone is interested... I'll check that out.

Or better yet .... Maybe one of you old time Gold's members can give us all a historical update on that subject matter.

Cut and print!

And thanks for watching!

Da..Da..Da.... That's all, folks!

Just cause u can flex on stage with oil and a thong doesn't mean the majority of these meat heads can act

Clen and test mostly likely, shored up with gradual carb stripping and ab workouts. He really wasn't big at all, just detailed. Probably ran a heavier cycle for the Batman film considering it was made right after Machinist.

Ken Sprayed was just a gay porn actor and recruited bodybuilders for that sort of stuff.  Disgusting is what I would call him.  I only went to the original Gold's Gym and later stopped in at Joe Gold's World Gym but only to look around and I had a nice time talking (briefly) with Joe one day.

Alan Ladd was (maybe) 5' 5" or so.  It was said he had some leading ladies walk next to him in a trench so he would appear taller.  Steve Reeves was tall, well built and ridiculously handsome.  So much so that I understand he had difficulty with other actors not wanting to be in a film with him.  Probably the same problem existed for Clint Walker, although he was not quite as built as Reeves, still he was an extremely handsome man and very tall for an actor. Actors trade on their looks so I suppose one can't really blame them for not wanting to be next to a Reeves or Walker.    Here's a photo of those two standing together talking and Reeves is kinda dwarfed by Clint, but then there's nothing that can be done about that.

O'Hearn isn't a star because has zero on screen charisma and talent, it's nothing to do with him looking too good next to movie stars.

He's a model with muscles, you need more than that.
