What do you find to be so special about Arnold's genetics?Horrible triceps, lats, waist, quads and calfs. Lou Ferrigno, Ronnie Coleman, Markus Ruhl are three names that come to mind that have better genetics than Arnold. Arnold was a shrewd marketer and a damn hard worker. But mediocre in genetics.
Err...dude :\ Arnold's calves were amazing. His quads weren't stupidly gigantic like these fuckers waddling around today, but they had crazy separation and were plenty big for his day. His waist/abs weren't the best, but horrible? LOL. His triceps only lag in a comparative sense. Ironically, you say Ruehl has better genetics, but his biceps/triceps balance is waaay askew vs. Arnold's (to say nothing of Coleman's own overpowering biceps *or* Ronnie and Markus' overblown guts).
As for lats...zwha? AS's lats practically inserted into his fucking hips
There are bodybuilders with better genetics, but they're nowhere near as common as you insinuated.
P.S. -- Pointing out that modern training methods are so much better, which I find dubious at best, and/or the superiority of modern "supplements" flies in the face of this "Arnold's genes suck" claim. Do I have to explain how contradictory that is? If anything, the lack of supplementation and gross overtraining common in the 70s only reinforces how Arnold's genetics helped him become a champion.
