I still have an old 36" JVC picture tube TV that I bought new almost 20 years ago. Still works as good today as when I bought it, and I'm sure it would probably still work 20 years from now too. Never get that kinda mileage out of any TV's today, or any electronics for that matter. They are all made cheap and disposable. Yeah it's ugly and out of style for today but it kills me to get rid of it because 1. I know the TV that replaces it will never last nearly as long, and 2. You can't even give them away today, not even the Salvation army will take them, so I'd basically have to throw it in the garbage even though it works perfect...
