Slight tangent - the first pieces of sexually explicit writing I came across as a youngster were in the 'Jaws novel.

Some surprisingly vivid scenes and language in there, with a whole sub-plot where Hooper was enthusiastically banging Chief Brody's wife... And Quint's vocabulary was a little, er, stronger to be sure.... I recall one particular line as the shark breached and rolled away from them 'exposing its salami like claspers'

Quint shouts: "I see your c0ck you ba5tard!!"

I don't suppose anyone else remembers reading it..?

I remember Hooper's affair with the Chief's wife and the cursing. That was pretty much left out of the film and if I recall, Hooper died in the book but not the film.

Maybe he thinks b/c it's a white shark it's only looking for blacks.

How long could he have held on to the camera while the shark was taking bites out of him?
