Yep 100%, Cormier is built like and sounds like a suburban dad but he is a very dangerous and skilled man. My respect for him over the years has grown tremendously. BUT there is one person better and it's Jon Jones.

Cormier is too “compact” to be effective against Jones. To beat Jones, a guy would have to be like 6’5”... have a 84” reach like Jones, and he would need to have a chin; because Jones will (not might) land some big elbows and spinning back fists. You know they are coming, but good luck trying to stop them.

I watched Jones vs Gustafsson a few years back and thought that Gustafsson won the fight.  Oh well...at least we are discussing heavyweights here, not some 140 pound bitch boxers.  I heard some MMA podcast not too long ago and they said Cormier is actually a heavyweight...kills himself to get to light heavyweight.  If that's true, he might run right over Jones at heavyweight.  Who knows as Jones has been on PEDs for years now.  They probably all are though.

1) I wasn’t talking about Stipe. I was talking about Jones.

However:

Jones has a significant reach advantage over Stipe... and Jones is more athletic that Stipe... and Jones has already beat DC twice. So just because DC beat Stipe, doesn’t mean that DC can beat Jones.


Bottom line: Jones outclasses DC

Jones is lacking confidence, took PED's several time, if he was certain he could beat DC he would have been clean. In his head and heart he has doubt and that is a huge issue. ballz cormier dropped to lhw because he didnt want to fight cain velasquez who is his teamate and was champion at that time.  cormier has never lost at hw.
