LOL he doesn't know what the ratings are.
They might be up 20%, 30%, 40% but its fine if they drop 40% ..... LOL if his ratings dropped 15% for an extended period he'd have a new time slot on a different network.
He's 33. He doesn't know shit about CNN. I've been watching them since the first episode of The Capital Gang back in 1988 until the last, dispiriting years of the Obama administration, before they turned full radical and became the destroy-Trump news network. I still watch MSNBC at times for some variety and to get a different opinion than Fox News, but I can't watch CNN. It's impossible. It's unbearable.
CNN has had the highest turnover in on-air talent, and the largest amount of cancelled programs that failed to meet expectations or sustain ratings, of any major network. If you're not Anderson Cooper or Wolf Blitzer, you may find your contract cancelled before your anchor chair even gets warm if you don't pull the numbers they need. After all, they're trailing behind MSNBC which is trailing far behind Fox News.
Brian has no idea how irrelevant and replaceable he is. And he's out of his league arguing back with a legend like Ted Koppel, who after all has been across virtually the entire planet on news assignments and hosted a show America watched when Steltzer hadn't even been conceived yet. But he is exemplary of the millennial arrogance that has alienated CNN's conservative viewers and inflated Fox News' Neilsen ratings.
