Thats the key to deadlifting is getting the groove, and practice it 'til perfect. Friend of mine is a thin 150 lb. lifter.
All he does year long, is practice his deadlift form, with very light weight. Never goes above 225, and normally uses even lighter than that. Last month before a contest he'll add weight.
Pulls around 300 lbs over his body-weight (450) is Natty, and 50 years old. Never injured and just enjoys training like that.

you defnitly sqat more ,its less of a dragging the bar up your shins deadlift.

a power lift dead the goal is to get close and sneak under the bar

this lift is more similar to nature haveing the weight more out in front of you, kinda like a strongman boulder lift.  i think a boulder lift for reps would be excellent

these heavy sumo deads are max tension , but max leverage not a thorough work... but hell if u can do conventianol deads for good reps then u already know ur shit

I do a bodybuilding type fitness workout and I don't concentrate on the power lifts. I dead lift after training back and chest. I'm pre fatigued and weakened. That way I'm only using weight between 300lbs and 350lbs for my sets. I notice all the power lifters in my gym will do stuff like deadlift or squat for one hour. Taking a ridiculous time in between each lift. I do 10 exercises by the time some power lifters are finished with one exercise.

OT you do bodybuilder workouts they powerlift. You should look better than them and they should be stronger than you.

Do what makes you happy.

I thought with the deadlift you drove through your heels.

Deadlifting off my toes I fall over.

I do the same. Like every new lifter I concentrated in the beginning doing the power lifts. Got up to  495 pounds for the deadlift and then decided I didn't like the feeling it had on my spine. More power to the super strong who can do those crazy weights  but over time the heavy lifts beat up my joints. I stopped before I did any permanent damage.

I feel so much better working out in the 6-10 rep range for 3 sets or so..
