Is that your only hangup?  That's what you've been spouting over and over.  You agree a wall is needed, it's just a matter of who pays for it?  ::)

Dems seemED to agree before Trump came along.  ::)

Love how the IRS says they won't be sending refunds, but you can surely send them what you owe.

Trump could re-start a TEA revolution with one sentence on Twitter right now.

Trump says he will be 'proud' to shut down the government for YEARS if he doesn't get his Mexican wall and says he might declare a NATIONAL EMERGENCY to build it as 'contentious' White House talks end in stalemate

Donald Trump told Congressional leaders Friday that he will shut down the government for 'months or even years' if he does not get money for his border wall with Mexico — and said he was 'proud' to do it because it's the right thing.

Trump's threat was first disclosed by Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, during a news conference outside the White House. He accused the president of holding federal workers 'hostage' for the wall and urged him to continue the conversation with the government open.

The president confirmed the remarks as he addressed reporters in the Rose Garden.

'I did. I did. I did say that. Absolutely, I said that. I don’t think it will, but I am prepared,' Trump said at the beginning of a lengthy news conference.

Trump claimed the meeting was 'very, very productive,' which was a stark contrast to the tone adopted by Democratic leaders, and said that he was setting up a working group led by Mike Pence, the vice president that would meet this weekend to discuss how to move forward on the shutdown.

He headed to the Rose Garden after the meeting for an impromptu press conference flanked by Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Pence, Republican Minority Whip Steve Scalise and Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate leader had been present for the talks but was not at the press conference. Trump claimed he was 'busy running the Senate,' even though it had adjourned until Tuesday.

Trump described his wall as a vital national security measure, and in a free-wheeling performance claimed that illegal immigrants were being driven across it away from ports of entries, in some cases with women in the back of their vehicles with their mouths taped over.

The president also disclosed that he had considered declaring a national emergency to build the wall without legislative approval and said: 'I can do it, if I want.'

'We can call a national emergency because of the security of our country. Absolutely. No, we can do it. I haven’t done it. I may do it,' he said. 'We can call a national emergency and build it very quickly.'

The Latest: Trump to address nation about ‘crisis’ at wall

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on the government shutdown (all times local):

1:55 p.m.

President Donald Trump says he will address the nation Tuesday night about what says is a “crisis” at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump’s prime-time address will come amid a partial government shutdown caused by his insistence that Congress give him more than $5 billion to build a wall on the border. Congressional Democrats are refusing to pay for a wall.

Trump also plans a trip Thursday to the southern border to highlight his demands for the wall.

Trump tweets that he will address the nation at 9 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday.

One thing for sure, do not file your taxes until the deadline if you underpaid. Conversely when the IRS owes you a return, file them the very first day possible.

Trump: 'May declare a national emergency' to build wall

Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump said Sunday that he might declare a national emergency imminently to secure money for his border wall.

"I may declare a national emergency dependent on what's going to happen over the next few days," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for Camp David.

A White House official told CNN on Saturday that Trump was leaning toward declaring a national emergency to use military funding for his wall. Trump has demanded Congress appropriate money for the wall, and his dispute with Democrats over the issue pushed the government into an ongoing partial shutdown.

Maryland's Democratic senators, Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, meanwhile, on Sunday called for not taking up any legislation not related to ending the shutdown.

"Senate Democrats should block consideration of any bills unrelated to opening the government until Sen. Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans allow a vote on the bipartisan bills the House passed to open the government," Van Hollen tweeted.

Vice President Mike Pence held a meeting with congressional leadership staff on Sunday afternoon, but after the meeting there was little indication they were getting close to a deal to reopen the government.

During Sunday's meeting, a letter from Acting Budget Director Russell Vought was handed to the congressional staff officially outlining some of the new requests for money on top of what's already been included in the Senate's FY 2019 bill. It included:

-- $5.7 billion for what is now called a "steel barrier" for the Southwest Border (which is an increase of $4.1 billion over the Senate funding). The letter says: "Central to any strategy to achieve operational control along the southern border is a physical infrastructure to provide requisite impedance and denial.";

-- $800 million to address "urgent humanitarian needs," such as additional funding for enhanced medical support and additional temporary facilities for processing and short-term custody of migrants taken into custody;

-- Additional $798 million for more detention beds — bringing the total request to $4.2 billion for 52,000 detention beds, citing an increase of people attempting to cross the border;

-- $571 million for an additional 2,000 law enforcement personnel;

The letter also includes a new policy proposal put forward by Democrats. The proposal, which appears similar to one rolled out during the Obama administration, would allow for in-country asylum processing for Central American minors. The letter notes that additional statutory change "would be required to ensure that those who circumvent the process and come to the United States without authorization can be promptly returned home." It's unclear if this means that those who approach the southern border would be denied asylum.
