I think that thee are about 2 or 3 GetBiggers besides RON who may be coming to LV this year to  participate as an avid fan of all tings Olympia related (Septembe 12 - 15, 2019).

So since I now reside in Vegas and am the duty expert on all things Vegas related …. I’ll be offering some important shit and stuff for you few Oly fans who may be  attending … as well as you fans who simply enjoy predicting the winners and arguing the outcome.

I’ll leave the forecasts and contender specifics up to some of you more knowledgeable  GetBiggers who actually care about who’s gonna win … and who’s gonna lose .. as I am dumb these days about these professional contenders..... and have continued to be dumb ever since a guy named ‘JAY’ took home the bacon.

Actually JAY is a good friend … and unless good friends are on that stage … I find it to be too damn boring.

But the Oly pro and con comments from those Getiggers seated in the Peanut Gallery always make for interesting reading.

So this year it's 12 -15 September .... and you might want to read-on if you plan to attend .....

Or possibly offer some knowledgeable comments about this year's contenders!

It does appear that most Oly fans want Kai to win!

I don't!

Hey, COACH, I'll look for ya, but now-a-days my only Oly interest  is attending the Oly Expo.

BTW .... I met you years ago through a mutual friend ... let me know if you plan to be working in one of the booths and I'll definitely stop by and say, "Howdy!"

OK, back to you other GetBiggers  who plan to be here for the Oly...

First of all ... You gotta know/learn how to survive in this town even if you're only staying for a period of 4 to 5 days.

Most knowledgeable locals "survive" in this town by taking full advantage of the casinos ... where just about everything is free if youknow how to  play it right and are somewhat 'lucky'.

I don't actually gamble much, but I still get free or half price buffet offers  3 - 4 times each week which I seldom use.

But most Las Vegas visitors  don't have the time to 'play it right', so I'd suggest that you avoid the lure of the tables and the slots and  these so called 'sport books' where you'll most likely lose more money than you originally intended.

But if you do plan to gamble anyway, here's some advice that may prove helpful ....

A. Get a Player's Club Card and use it. If you use it enough and present it upon checking out, you may get a room rate reduction.

B. If you are a slot machine fan, I'd suggest: Kitty Glitter, Buffalo,Wolf Run.

C. If you play Blackjack ... Only play in those casinos that pay you 3 to 2 when you get a Blackjack.... and avoid all the Strip casinos that only pay 6 - 5 now-a-days.

(The Orleans is a local casino that pays 3 - 2 and offers minimum $5 tables which is agood deal if you are a Blackjack player.)

I agree the bodybuilding is a little boring to watch but I really like the expo and especially watching the strongman events. When I go to Vegas it's to train at the Lift Factory and just walk around, eat and people watch. I hardly if ever drink and don't gamble at all but it's still a fun weekend and make business connections.

RON/BOMZ, Thanks!

Advertised Orleans hotel room rates for the Oly event start at $165 a night plus a rip-off resort fee and the appropriate taxes of 13%.
So don't place any trust in those $55/nite advertised rates!

And about a mile east of the Orleans you can book a room for about $92 a night in the Wild Wild West plus a resort fee and appropriate taxes which will most likely be the least expensive hotel room-rate near the Orleans during the Oly activities.

Any GetBigger attending the Oly will most likely 'fine dine' at the Orleans which will most likely raise the lunch and dinner prices by a couple of bucks, but the lunch buffet at a bit less than $15 is still a bargain.

But those who know Vegas well will most likely have a meal or two at ELLIS ISLAND on Koval. I suggst their Fish and Chips and/or the Prime Rib which is served 24 hours in the Coffee Shop .... as well as the Baby Back Ribs in the back restaurant which opens at 4:30 PM each day.

I've never met anyone who was disappointed with either of the above, but forget the Shrimp Scampi which the chef has not perfected yet.

Good $5, 3 to 2, Blckjack and loose slots there also, but expect $10 BJ minimums if the Oly fills this town up ... which it appears to be doing if you take a good look at the high room rates all over town that week.

I gotta assume that there is also another big event taking place here that same week.

RON, Are you paying that $165+ per night at he Orleans .... or did you find a better deal??

For me, because of the arena, the athletes, the Meet & Greet, the Press Conference, the Orleans is the best hotel to stay, and they have an incredible Japanese/Chinese Restaurant there that is my favorite. Also, a steak house/prime rib place.  Also, a cool cafe and Fridays. Also, they have a simple food court with Sbaro pizza, Fuddruckers, Subway, and some other items.

And upstairs, they have a 72 lanes bowling alley, and also a movie theater with the latest movies.

And yes, they have a special CODE that I use for the hotel right now to get a better rate, thanks to the Olympia people. On their web site.

The Orleans Hotel & Casino is the official host hotel of the 2019 Olympia Weekend.  Book your hotel stay with special room rates!
BOOK NOW or Call 1-800-675-3267 and use code A9MRC09
*Room Reservation Terms & Conditions Apply.

Other hotels, if you book early, you can find good rates too.
