whats your opinion on the different types of leverage leg presses?

to me theyve never felt right, theyre too wobbly.

im talking about the kind where you press the plate forward rather than pressing your seat upwards

is there a place for them? maybe one should just approach them differently than a traditional leg press

They had one in my old works gym and like you said it never felt right. Difficult to set up for first rep too unless you have the seat quite far back and less range of motion

I found all leg presses feel different from different manufactures. Some are just okay. Some are great and so many are terrible.  I have a home unit built by the then company called Serious Steel. It feels like it was custom made for me. The commercial gym I go to has a giant monstrosity. It's just build wrong. Every one complains about it. The angle is just wrong. On top of it there are no safety stops. Blow out your knee and you will be crushed.
