except....no one ACTUALLY knows how the fucking voltage/current senses BEFORE ANY POSSIBLE MEASUREMENT, how to divide (no really, it doesn't. I probed this as 2nd year, had an elec lecturer that was quantum physics prof, and he couldnt tell me, but maybe it was just cos it was too long), or how fire works. The whole flat earth movement is the desire to go back to simpler times. You know, before scientific thought became widespread. So it is close to the Dark Ages in mentality.

I can see the attraction for some. Magic potions, dragons, wizards - a regular Camelot or Knights of the Round Table world. Who wants a world with no mystery? Science destroys mystery.
