2020 Olympia - Weekend Qualification System Information

The IFBB Professional League, along with Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend, is pleased to announce the 2020 Olympia Qualification System (“OQS”), which starts August 5, 2019 to August 3, 2020.

The 2020 OQS qualifies athletes for the 2020 OLYMPIA and runs from August 5, 2019 to August 3, 2020. The OQS awards points to competitors placing 2nd to 5th. Depending on the division, the top 3 or top 5 competitors with the highest point totals qualify to compete at the OLYMPIA. Ties are broken in favor of the competitor with the better placings (the tier levels are also taken into consideration). Athletes are not moved up if a position becomes vacated.



For Men's Bodybuilding, Men's Bodybuilding 212lb and Under, Fitness, Figure and Women's Physique. (Divisions with 25 or less contests)

WHO QUALIFIES?

The Top 5 from the 2019 Olympia.  The Winner of each contest. The Top 3 in the Point Standings.

Tier 1 Contests:  Arnold Classic USA

2nd – 10 points
3rd – 9 points
4th – 8 points
5th – 7 points

Tier 2 Contests: Arnold Classic Australia, Arnold Classic Brazil, Pittsburgh Pro, New York Pro, Tampa Pro, Prague Pro, Toronto Pro, Yamamoto Cup

2nd – 8 points
3rd – 7 points
4th – 6 points
5th – 5 points

Tier 3 Contests: Chicago Pro, Vancouver Pro, Portugal Pro, Japan Pro

2nd – 6 points
3rd – 5 points
4th – 4 points
5th – 3 points

Tier 4 Contests: All other contests

2nd – 4 points
3rd – 3 points
4th – 2 points
5th – 1 point

WHO QUALIFIES?

ONLY THE OVERALL WINNERS OF THE OLYMPIA WILL BE GRANTED AUTOMATIC QUALIFICATION TO THE FOLLOWING YEAR’S OLYMPIA. All others will have to requalify.

Tier 1 Contests:  Arnold Classic USA, Arnold Classic Australia, Pittsburgh Pro, New York Pro, Toronto Pro, Chicago Pro, Musclecontest Brazil, Tampa Pro, Portugal Pro, Yamamoto Cup, Vancouver Pro, Japan Pro

2nd – 8 points
3rd – 7 points
4th – 6 points
5th – 5 points

Tier 1 Contest Winners in Each Division earn Automatic Olympia Qualification. The Winners receive All Expenses Paid to the Olympia and a Per Diem. The Winners receive an Automatic Pass to the “Prejudging Round”


Tier 2 Contests: All other contests

2nd – 4 points
3rd – 3 points
4th – 2 points
5th – 1 point

Tier 2 Contest Winners in Each Division earn Automatic Olympia Qualification. The Top 5 in the Points Standing also Qualify for the Elimination Round.   Athletes will be responsible for their own travel expenses and participation in the “Elimination Round” will be held immediately prior to the “Prejudging Round”  NO INDIVIDUAL ROUTINES WILL BE PERFORMED. Athletes will be brought out in groups and Judged and Compared accordingly.   The Judges will narrow the “Elimination Round” down to a number of athletes so that when combined with the Tier 1 Winners and Previous Year Olympia Champion, there will be a Total of 25 Athletes for the “Prejudging Round”.   Whoever makes it to the “Prejudging Round” from the “Elimination Round” will have an amount TBD reimbursed by AMI.   Those 25 Athletes will begin the “Prejudging Round” where they will perform their Individual Routines and then go into the Comparisons.  The Top Athletes after the “Prejudging Round” will move on to the Finals to be held at the Orleans Arena on the JOE WEIDER STAGE

This means a minimum of 13 competitors will be taken from the Elimination Round to the Prejudging Round, or more, up to the maximum 25 competitors per division.

2020 Olympia Qualification System (“OQS”) - Updated

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received since announcing the 2020 Olympia Qualification System, the IFBB Professional League will continue to support our promoters and strive to improve for our athletes to achieve their dream of stepping on the Olympia stage. So, we decided to make some changes to make the athletes Olympia experience even better! Following President Jim Manion’s motto “You Win, You’re In!”, below is an update on the 2020 Olympia Qualification System:

* Each athlete will be responsible for his/her expenses to the Olympia. Mr. Olympia LLC will reimburse the top 25 athletes for their travel and accommodations.
