Cable IS dead. It just is dying slowly because a lot of old farts are afraid to change anything.
Naah. I was actually hoping this was going to be the case a few years ago, but there are still too many advantages to live tv. Especially now that there isn't a streaming leader where you can get everything cheaply (as the case used to be with Netflix). Most of the companies that control cable are the same companies that control streaming. Some of the overall industry has receded, but the core of the business will remain fine and a huge portion of people are just gonna add on to what they have as opposed to trading one service in for the other.
