They are committing political suicide, but in politics zombies are real, so I don’t know what the long-term repercussions will be. We’ll see, I guess.

Meanwhile I laugh at all sides: the Democrats for being idiots and acting like petulant children and the Republicans for bending over for Daddy Donald and acting like spoiled brats, and Donald Trump for being a Twitter caricature of a person, in all his amusing and bemusing incoherent glory.

At first, I laughed to mask the tears I cry for the country I loved. A country which had been betrayed and raped by the politicians, regardless of party, and the average Americans that elect them. But with time even the tears dried out.

And now all I have is the laughter.

I thought there was a real opportunity for the freshmen Democrats from the red districts to take a stand, challenge the old guard, and reach across the table to get a bipartisan solution.  They could have said Pelosi/Nadler, etc were walking billboards for term limits, which could have established themselves as future leaders.

Instead, they got in line, intimidated and weak.

You are right, but you can say that about both sides. We are becoming more and more polarized and the more preposterous the positions one purports to hold, the more one is liked and hated, regardless of the merits of the positions.

This entire fiasco was started by only one side, and now that it’s nearing its conclusion, Pelosi makes a complete joke of it by failing to submit the articles to the Senate.

Impeachment is officially meaningless.

I don't disagree in spirit, but the Republicans are on the defensive in this case.

I suppose they could have reached out to those I mentioned.
