THE ROC, THE ROCK, and THE OLYMPIA !!!
« on: January 24, 2020, 10:11:25 AM »
Interesting 2020 Aug, Sept, October IFBB Pro League Contest schedule.

Is it possible that one or each of the following events will "outclass" the Olympia by offering larger cash awards or draw more interest among the fans than the prestigeous Olympia?

And has any GetBigger valid information about the Rock's ATHLETICON bodybuilding  contest events  being officially sanctioned by the FBB Pro League as of this date .... January 24, 2020?

Is Athleticon officially sanctioned by the IFB Pro League yet?

The following three-month schedule for IFBB Pro League contenders seems to be pretty  damn close apart .... meaning ... which one will they enter?

One, two, or all three!

Will this schedule have any adverse effect on the top IFBB contenders choice of which event to compete within?

Will that have a direct, adverse affect on the Olympia line-up?

Is it possible that one contest willl offer more prize money than the Olympia, have more contenders, or garner more fans and sponsors?

Here's that new 3 month (Aug/Sept/October 2020) IFBB Pro League schedule.

August 22, 2020 ROC ATLANTA EXTRAVAGANZA in Atlanta presented by SHAQUILLE O’NEAL and and sanctioned by the NPC and the IFBB Professional League.

September 11 -12, 2020 IFBB Mr. Olympia, Las Vegas

October  9 - 11, 2020 Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson’s Athleticon in Atlanta. (IFBB Pro League sanstioned??)

What'cha think? Which event will prove to be the most popular among the fans and the contenders??

And also the sponsors and booth space exhibitors?

like anything else people will be interested mostly because of WHO's running it, The rock is a great guy very approachable not a dick in short.
He will have plenty of backing so booths will not be an issue, And as far as bringing in bodybuilders to compete  as long as the ifbb doesn't keep them from competing they will. money is money.

My question would be is it pros only or will they have an amateur division I'm thinking pro only..

DAN, The IFBB Pro League will not dis-allow any 'qualifired' IFBB  Pro LPro League competitor from entering any IFBB Pro League  sanctioned contest .... providing that they 'qualify for such event'.

In my opinion that means that an IFBB pro will be able to enter any of the before-mentioned events without suffering ramifications from the sanctioning body.

And I can't agree with your 'Pro Only' concept as it would be like throwing money away if the event promoter did not also promote an NPC event or a number of NPC events which would possibly draw 500 to 700 amateur contenders who would  be payng an entry fee of $300 each (my estimated guess) in addition to the yearly NPC membership fee.

Follow the money and you'll come up with a pretty decent idea of what these new events will consist of.

So the winner will be crowned Mr. Athletica?

I don't see this replacing the Mr. Olympia. Getting a Mr. Olympia title is the ultimate achievement in bodybuilding. It also sounds more imposing. Athletica sounds like Athletic. And Athletic is not usually associated with the most built man on the planet. Ballerina's and tennis players are athletic. That name is just not right.

I am sure it will be a great show though and because of the prize money people will compete. Maybe I am wrong though. I could see it being one of the top three. Mr. Olympia, Arnold Classic and the Rock's show.

The Rock is the ultimate showman and he even exceeds Arnold in that regard. He never had a physique quite like Arnold but as a movie star I would say he is equal in terms of star power. And a better actor because English is his first language. Arnold would have been better if English was his native language. But he did well for himself regardless. In interviews he sounds much more fluent in English. It is almost as if they dumb down his speech in movies.

From my understanding of what happening.....

Athleticon will be sanctioned by ifbb

Prizemoney may be equal across all division ( though I think surely they must boost it for men's open)

Prizemoney will not exceed the Olympia for men's open

As for the date that won't effect the Olympia, it's slotted for just after as I understand, this will give it a better chance of getting big names as all the top guys will be in shape already.

I don't see this as any challenge to the Olympia, especially if they keep up this equal prizemoney horseshit.
