Why are gurus so whiny?
« on: February 12, 2020, 10:43:55 AM »
Ever notice this? Gurus bitching and moaning and acting like they have some secrets to a Holy Grail. John Meadows providing the old man wisdom,  Dante Strudel (still with the TL; DR posts to this day), Paul Carter having mental e-breakdowns, Layne Norton acting as physique scientist. My 88 year old grandmother and two year old son whine less! And these men are in their 40’s and 50’s. Repeating the same shot over and over. Social media circle jerk threads in which their followers grab their jock.

I bet half the jacked guys in my gym don’t know who most of these gurus are!

john meadows self made guy this guys been through some rough shit and came out on top...

Growing up, John never met his father, and his mother died at an extremely young age. This meant John only had his grandmother to take care of him. When his grandmother tragically passed away in 1999, John was left alone without his family to support him.
As the years went by, John continued to face new adversities in his life. During his early days in bodybuilding, John suffered from a rare colon disease. After fighting the disease for several months, his colon burst – almost resulting in his death. Luckily, John was quickly rushed to an emergency room where his life was saved. After several months of recovery, John was finally back on his feet.

Why are gurus so whiny?

 ;D ;D ;D

I can't answer that question, but regarding the popularity of gurus as per your suspicion that half the jacked guys at your gym don't know who must of them are...as an experiment, why don't you try this:

Go to your gym with a list of five top pro gurus.  Then ask various jacked guys if they could help you pick from one of the guys on the list to work with you for your prep for an upcoming contest that you want to do.

That would help make a determination as to whether any of them are known by the guys at your gym.

I suspect that at least some of them would be known.  Layne Norton was on Joe Rogan's podcast, for example.  So I think that among guys who take their training seriously at the gym, that some of them would know who he is - or if not Layne, then some of the other guys.

Just a question though - how does Layne Norton acting like a physique scientist make him whiny?

Your post reminds me of when Tom Platz posted a photo of him doing a lecture of some sort, with the caption "Professor of Bodybuilding Sciences", LOL.  I didn't know you could get a Ph.D in that.  ;D

Thanks for the post Matt. You know I like your posts. And any man who’s a fan of Dr. William Pierce, a REAL Phd, is fine by me.

I’ll ask around.

Go check the whiny-ass posts of Paul Carter.

Never liked this guy. He used to post all that tough guy lifter horseshit on a board I used to read called "Power and Bulk", claiming to just be TRT doses, but the mgs he was on were much higher than most TRT programs I've ever seen. Later, after he rode Jim Wendler's coat tails a bit, he did one power meet put up an average total, and blamed it on a torn hamstring, that magically healed up pretty fast.

And still didn’t win jack shit

He was in his mid 20’s in 1999, if he needed his family to support him and failed in life
