Only episode I had was mild. Lasted a couple months but wasn't excruciating. I labored for a bricklayer for a week and picking up bricks from above, doing wrist extension holds with an open hand, was uncomfortable and concerned me but turned out to be theraputic and actually solved it. Hope you can fix it without surgery.

Rested the fuck out of mine for months. Come to think of it, it was waking me up at night early on so was kind of bad. Months of favoring it helped a lot and got it to where it was just a lingering annoyance before carrying those bricks got rid of it.

I'm not prescribing lifting 2000 bricks if it's wicked inflamed.

My elbow has been acting up lately. Heat has helped as well as going lighter.

Also, stopped doing skull crushers and overhead dumbbell extensions.

Inflammation of condylar tendons often takes a long time to heal because areas like that and ankles have little circulation.

I tried the cortisone route, which only helped temporarily.
Topical warming agents as well as alternating hot/cold therapy and NSAIDS can help some, but ultimately, it takes time - as much as 2-4 months from my experience.

I can do heavy tricep extension work today no problem. One of the things that helped me a lot was slowing down the eccentric portion of my reps. This greatly reduced the trauma to my elbow tendons.
I am now able to go heavy with a deep stretch on multiple movements just fine.

I also perform several warmup sets of cable extensions and other exercises before moving into working sets, and I consistently wear elbow sleeves for mild compression support and heat therapy.

Check out Athlean x or Smashwerx, they have self rehab exercises. I’ve had crunchy/grindy shoulders for years but the exercises from smashwerx have helped me a lot.

There are some incredible advances in this area over recent years. Colleague of mine had injections in shoulders (might have been just one) and knee and it looks as if he is going to avoid surgery at least for the time being.

One guy at the gym had two injections to the shoulder joint and he said it worked. He also said he had a man who was a chiropractor who squeezed his shoulder really hard to the point of pain and he said it really helped.

I don't believe there is any scientific proof yet that plasma injections are anything more than placebo.

Same with chiropractors.  No basis in science.  None.  Zero.

Joint, tendon, muscle injuries can take many weeks or months to heal.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and rest.
