Hello:
We’ve survived the Polio outbreak. We’ve survived HIV needles stabbing people. Bird Flu, Spanish Flu, Ebola, SARS, Mad Cow, we’ve survived.
Gyms are shut down. Even though for years we’ve trained among HIV+ members, people with Hep C, exposed to MRSA, people not washing their hands after using the bathroom. Spitting, coughing, not wiping their sweat.
Our shelves have been wiped clean here at East Coast grocery stores. I’ve seen 4 rolls of Toilet Paper cost $14.00.
I’ve seen neighbors isolate themselves and not speak to anyone. I’ve seen them rush past houses of friends so they do not get stopped to chat.
I’ve been laid off, and have no idea of when my job is opening or if it ever will.
I spend the days working out with my cinder blocks-farmers walks, squats, overhead presses with them. Jogging, pushups, pull-ups, etc.
My favorite pizza parlor doesn’t accept cash anymore. Because apparently cash is suddenly dirty? Like it was clean all these years before.
The times are changing.
