Damn.

No wonder Joe Weider paid him $400,000 to come to the USA. He likely saw Gunter's Arnold-esque qualities. In any case, Weider was right about Gunter's potential.

Recall reading nerd Nasser criticizing Günther, claiming that he was always wearing a smile and being agreeable with Weider, like he himself wasn't someone who would spread gossip and backstab on anyone.
Typical Ar**, friendly and funny around you, but don't you dare turn your back on him!
Günther was so wide, one of the biggest pros around, but his waist and hips were nothing fancy!

Stood a few feet away as he was in his posing trunks standing by the pool in Las Vegas in the 1990s at one of the Olympias. Went to the pool as a gym rat, but left with a confirmed schmoe conversion having struck me dumb. Dude was ENORMOUS. And of course in the “day of” conditioning shown above.

Everyone always said pictures and videos didn't do him any justice because he didn't have those super full round muscle bellies a lotta black guys had. But when he was standing right in front of you with his height and barn-door wide shoulders, your jaw was dropping to the floor.
