Props to Justin Gaethje

I have to admit I was surprised and very impressed at his performance against Ferguson. I thought Ferguson would crush Justin. Justin was so poised and slick and just dominate a real world-class fighter. It was a fair stoppage but I still don't think you should ever stop a fight if a person is still standing unless he is being held up by the ropes like sometimes happens in boxing or MMA that uses boxing rings.

And the Cejudo/Cruz was definitely stopped too early. Cruz was getting back up on his feet. I know it was one of those touchy, close calls but in a championship fight, you should wait until there is no question that a person can no longer continue. Cruz didn't even appear hurt when it was broken up he immediately protested and looked like he could continue.

I knew Gaethje had a very good chance to win this fight. Just not the way he decimated Tony.  Tony was being in camp since November and I think this might have had maybe an impact on his performance (maybe). Tony's gas tank was still full but the raw power and precision of Justin were just too much for him. I feel bad for Tony losing his chance to fight for the belt again..
I say the stoppage was perfect. No use to take more damage.

I usually cheer against the guy with the worst tattoos.

I was hoping they would both lose.

Ferguson didn't have head movement or plan B. Good footwork, but he should have performed better.

Props to Gaethje as well, styles make fights and this was a bad one for Ferguson, but I still think he has the best chance to dethrone Khabib, we didn't get to see yesterday, but i feel Fergusons take down defence and movement would trouble Khabib more than Gaethje. Khabib when he shoots is something else, but I'm not counting him out. His respect went through the roof when he refused the interim belt, I hope he wins, Khabib style is hugely effective but one dimensional, i would rather watch guys that can stand up and grapple rather than just take down and hold. Ferguson will bounce back, he had his moment at the end of the second round, he just didn't have time to capitalise on it, a minute or too earlier and he might have had the time to finish him. But props to Gaethje.

Yes, also liked how Justin changed his strategy and held back and not burned himself out at every opportunity when he had Tony at the cagewall/rocked/injured etc

I'm very proud of Gaethje.

The man fought the perfect fight against Ferguson. He won every single round and beat Ferguson at his own game (striking). Echoing Kwon, he had perfect composure during times when he had Ferguson hurt and up on the ropes (times where Ferguson usually shines by turning it on and pulling an 11th-hour hailmary move that ends the fight).

He fought the perfect fight and deserves the win. To be very fair, Gaethje is a more accurate, skilled and harder striker than Khabib. I think Khabib still bests him on the ground, but I don't think Gaethje will be a walk in the park by way of his by sound takedown defense and wrestling skills.

Im not impressed.

francis ngannous delivered a knockout within 20 seconds.

What took this guy Justin so long ?

If everybody fought the way Francis fights we could have 200 fights per night! Would be awesome
