Haha I always thought this was a myth untill went on the boat Trip at ayia napa and it parked up in a cove for a few hours, drinks were free And a DJ was playing music and could dive off the boat and swim in the sea,  a couple hundred people On board and about a third black but the whole time only 2 blacks went in the water and they both had life jackets on and were 2 foot away from the ladder holding a rope tied to the ladder just bobbing up and down grinning at each other highly amused that they were actually in the sea

It's time to kill-off the Academy Awards and devise something new.

Here's a possible solution which just might allow movie makers who strive to receive major awards within their own industry to continue what they do best without external intrusions and obligations from an organization which should have no right to tell anyone how to produce a motion picture..

1. Ignore the Academy Awards  start a new motion picture awards organization which will allow those who make motion pictures to work with those individuals whom they consider to be the best within their craft such as the producers, the directors, the actors/actresses, cameraman, .... and anyone else associated with the creation of that particular motion picture regardless of their, sex, sexual orientation, color, disability, etc., etc.

Hire individuals based solely on their ability to perform the job.

2. But (and this is a 'BIG BUT") have an open election to determine those members who will be assigned to determine which motion pictures (as well as those involved) will be honored a prestigious trophy.

3. This board must consist of one or more individuals who are homosexuals, tranvestites, physically or emotionally impaired, and at least one of the following individuals ...
An Asian guy or gal
A Spanish guy or gal
An African American guy or gal
A Native American guy or gal
A Alaskan Native guy or gal
A Middle Eastern guy or gal
A Native Hawaiian guy or gal
A Pacific Islander guy or gal

Let those who write the pay-checks decide who gets the job which will usually go to the individual who can do the job better than the others ..... And let those others as mentioned above make the award winning decisions.
