I lived/worked in Germany for 3 years. Not a bad place, but generally easy to live if you have a good job. People are alright, most are a bit grumpy and not helpful if you speak English. Food is terrible, but lots of good beer. I enjoyed the slower pace of daily life, people are generally laid back and you don't have to work very hard at all. Expectations are very low compared to working in the private sector of America.
My problem was with all the refugees or immigrants, they are ruining everything. I literally watched Islam destroy the town of Baden-Baden and Stuttgart. They have special privilege's there and do not get prosecuted for anything. Watched dozens of people get robbed, they follow you around and snatch your wife's purse, grab your phone, break into cars, etc. All day long they get away with this, it's worse than the joggers in America. You can't even say anything to them, just try to ignore them.
I had to purchase private insurance and never really used it, just a few checkups at the doctor/dentist. I've met many people with completely different views on their insurance, it's like Canada but they can deny anything if they want. They classified my co-workers ACL tear as cosmetic, wouldn't do the reconstruction unless he paid 80% of it. The one time i got sick there was a 3 week wait to see the Doctor, so i just took Tylenol and dealt with it. Unless you are near death it's hard to see the doctor, they believe everything should be caught with routine check ups.
My favorite parts were driving 140+ MPH down the Autobahn almost daily in my friends BMW M4 and the nightlife in big cities is exciting. It's weird seeing Mercedes cars used as taxis and generally considered average cars over there. I drove a MB S 550 for 2 years, it was so much cheaper over there compared to the states.
Lots of green country and historic areas, castles and stuff; like mentioned earlier the Black Forest is beautiful. I've hiked every part of it i think. Witness a guy fall and break his leg, had to be lifted out by heli. Was cool to see them fly in and grab the guy.
Met some people who worked at a winery on the Rhine River, one of them had a boat and almost every weekend we'd go up and down the river while drinking wine. We got to climb up into some of the private off limits castles on both sides of the border, just because these people knew how to sneak in. We climbed up to the very top one night and smoked some hash, i didn't think i would have ever made it down.
Police are calm and laid back, just don't do anything stupid. The women are somewhat dikeish, some not very feminine, but there are a lot of single women. Just don't expect them to put up with any shit, they aren't brainless like here in the states, very independent; well the true "German" women are, there are tons of Arabs everywhere you go, mainly big cities. If it weren't for them i would have finished out my 6 year contract, but after just over 3 years i was tired of being harrased by islamic filth everywhere i went, begging and trying to rob you when you turn your back. My co-worker's contract was up, so i had the option to end mine early and go back to America.
Oh and there a like zero fat people. It's crazy how you don't see many people over 200 pounds or so.
Bicycles everywhere. Girl i dated worked at a fancy Hotel and biked 12 miles "one way" to work every day. Only took the bus if it rained. She had never even driven a car before at 32 years old. Super cool chick, but very boring and didn't like to cook.
Had an encounter with some Russian mobsters at a bar in Baden-Baden. Legit shit, one of the main guys daughters was being escorted around by 6-7 secret service looking dudes in suits. She was hitting on me and my friend in Russian, neither of us understood a word she said, but she was so drunk she talked to us for over an hour. She was about 5'11" and 180 pounds, looked like miss piggy, we were daring each other to try and kiss her. I followed her towards the bathroom just by chance, two of the guys followed me into the bathroom. Thought i was about to get raped or killed. Most nervous piss i ever took. The bartender didn't charge anyone for drinks that night, i'm not sure why. Her name was Bianca or something like that. Ugly as hell, but i'll never forget her massive tits. If only i had spoken Russian, might have been royalty today.

I'd rather live in German than France or England. Denmark is great, but a completely different story.
