NJ wants neighbors to turn-in neighbors for Thanksgiving
« on: November 24, 2020, 03:58:48 AM »
https://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/11/indoor-gathering-limits-will-be-hard-to-enforce-especially-around-the-holidays-police-say.html

"McCaffery said his department will rely on the public to report violators rather than actively searching for gatherings that exceed the limit. Although police regularly patrol neighborhoods, McCaffery said residents are in a better position to notice if something is amiss in their area.

“Nobody would know their own neighborhood than the people living in them,” he said. “If your family all of the sudden had five cars in the driveway and that’s not the norm, perhaps somebody in that neighborhood would recognize that sooner than one of the officers in our department who doesn’t live on that street or know those exact cars.”

Stop snitchin, 2020 version. ;)

Unfortunately I live in an area where this will happen most likely. I know the local Cops pretty good, so I doubt they would do anything.

I've noticed a lot of Police Officers aren't taking this too seriously. They just stop by and ask questions, give you a verbal warning and leave.

My friend had an outdoor wedding a few months ago, he lives on 3 acres in a nice part of the edge of town. 30 people attended the wedding, the neighbors called the Cops and they showed up, told us all to just be safe and have a happy marriage. You could tell they didn't want to be there, one of them even said they are "just doing something because they got a call".

People need to mind their own business.  What's snitching goin to do?  They would have already made contact.

Normally, I would agree that people should mind their own business. However, people who intentionally throw caution to the wind and put themselves in  a position to spread a deadly virus, not only to their family and friends but possibly to hundreds of innocent people is everyone's business.

It's nobody's business what I do inside my own house.

If you think it's the government's business, move to Russia or China and tell me how much you enjoy it.

I'm not going to have a large gathering because I do take this more seriously than others, but if my neighbors rat me out for having 5-6 people at my house tomorrow, we are going to have problems.
