What is your point exactly? Steroid use for physique enhancement and better performance dates back to the 40s and 50s. Take away steroids and football and baseball would have withered and died. If your argument is something along the lines of "back in such and such day Arnold and Lou only looked at real pharma ciba dianabol and that's all they needed! THINGS WERE GREAT NOW THEY ARE SHIT!" well guess what?

You are stuck in the past. You are upset your champs retired and moved on, I still wish Yates was Mr. Olympia. If you love the sport of bodybuilding then you love it. If you cannot love it the way it is today maybe you should be on a golf forum.

And for what it's worth I truly believe the advancement of physiques has a LOT to do with evolved knowledge on how to precisely diet down and dehydrate, how to train optimally, and how drug synergies can be used to go to the next level.

ITS NOT ALL DRUGS BROTHER. TODAYS BODYBUILDER IS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE ADVANCED IN ALL STAGES OF OFFSEASON AND PRECONTEST PREP. THAT IS WHY PHYSIQUES LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE 70`S, NOT DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS.

Hate to be rude but I am sick of hearing the same thing all the time. Yes, Arnold was Mr. O in a simpler more gentle time. He rode his bicycle to the boardwalk and hit on girls and worked out with scantily clad grown men on his shoulders and tanned on the beach before a contest. That was 70s prep. That is why bbers today look crazy in comparison.

"It's real to me!"  LOL

Amazing physique.

He's benching 405 with a collar-to-collar grip. Now, THAT'S POWER. Plus, it's a great way to build the pecs.

Since benches don't have those narrow uprights anymore, you have to do that with a spotter after taking off the weight or use the Smith Machine (which I do).

I found this video from an episode of American Muscle from 1993. He's over 50 years old, FANTASTIC!!!

Amazing picture. I heard he was told he couldn't compete in the 75 Olympia because he competed in a rival federation. He was a month away from competing. When he heard he wasn't allowed he stopped the drugs and took a break from training. When they realized for the movie Pumping Iron they only had one guy Ferrigno competing in the tall class they invited him back to the IFBB. Imagine if he competed in the condition he planned?
