How STRONG is Ronnie Coleman V Leonidas Arkona?

I remember when everyone's jaw was dropping like 15 years ago about Ronnies strength features. Nowadays his lifts don't seem to be anything special anymore, just shows how much the sport has evolved in the past 2 decades.

This guy did a comparison video, and a 22 yr old german Powerlifter (lifetime natty) basically equals or beats prime Ronnie in almost every lift.

Plus, he could lift what this fellow, Arkona, does back in 1994 when he was much lighter than Arkona is now. The video you featured say Ronnie hit 700 on the deadlift at 242. That's almost as good as what Arkona does at nearly 300 lbs.

Ronnie was doing heavy weights for working sets, 1-2 wks out of the Olympia

12 reps with 200 pound db’s on flat with ease

495 bent over rows for 10 with ease

315 barbell military press for 10/12

All done with single bf levels, show time condition

Ronnie wasn’t even concentrating or training powerlifting style for years at this point, very impressive still

He’s also unquestionably a stronger man than is Ronnie.

No disrespect to Coleman. Some of his accessory strength was mind-boggling.

P.S. Mr. German isn’t gonna have healthy knees if he keeps doing what he’s doing in that squat portion of the video. Anyone who truly knows squatting knows what I’m saying. Look at his knees travel during that lift. Brutal.

Then again, the guy’s shelf life as a powerlifter is not too lengthy, seeing as how he is gassing so hard, so young.

Coleman trained for bodybuilding and not powerlifting. I seriously doubt more than a handful could have trained with him on his bodybuilding program. They would be exhausted after the third day.  If Ronnie specialized in powerlifting I have no doubt he would have been one of the best of all time. Yes, I know he used drugs.

Whoever made that video doesn't know a damn thing.  Ronnie was never supposed to be strong or train for strength as a bodybuilder.  And that Arkona isn't going to have a career at all.  Watch for a quad blowout to end that.
