Interesting in that back in the day, bodybuilding was promoted as healthy and sexy and for both men AND women... Magazine covers regularly featured attractive couples for this promotion I guess trying to reach the mainstream and what not....
eventually it was a hopeless cause because of various reasons (steroid "scandals", the media shaping societal views on built bodies, "ewww, too much, it's gross" etc, etc...) and so it seems the mags went full on hardcore dropping the women and only posting mass monsters making the fitness/bodybuilding world even more of a niche "sport".....
of course the internet changed everything as well..
