What's hilarious is that they act like they can't control the physiques they judge when all it takes is to for a guy like a modern day Flex Wheeler or Bob Paris to compete and they crown him the winner and judges of all other shows do the same and punish extreme hypermuscular physiques that don't meet the standards.
That will never happen because while that would dramatically improve the talent pool in the amateurs and open division, it would decimate the "fees" they get from having all these divisions in the NPC and IFBB. Instead of improving the product, to make more money, they chop it, dilute it and resell and tell you it's better because there's more and they still make more money.
The bottom line is there's alot people bodybuilding that shouldn't be bodybuilding if it we're judged from the perspective of an art. As they don't have the structural genetics. They pile on unaesthetic mass in hopes it covers for their structural deficiencies (it never does). I would say this has become the rule as when before it was the exception.
