Remember the black square the idiots would have for their profile pic during the fentanyl Floyd riots?  When I was a kid, being left or right didn’t automatically mean you hated the other side.  Even if you didn’t like the president, you still laughed and joked with people about it.  Most people didn’t have this hate.  Now they do and I think the change came about when Obama was elected for his second term.  That’s when the more extreme leftism started to ramp up in my opinion.  That’s when a lot more stuff started getting shoved down our throats.  I think social media accelerated the process.  There’s no going back now.

2012 is when I noticed the leftism and the wokeness.  Social media started to take off in 07-08 but really took over around 2012.  Obama opposed gay marriage in 2008 and was a more center left democrat but by 2012 he was a complete lefty.  Not as extreme as what we see today, but a lefty nevertheless.
