I’ve only been to Chicago once and I stayed by the magnificent mile or whatever it’s called so my view on why they’d be gone is skewed because there wasn’t one near me. That said, everybody talked about how many places closed during covid because of the strict mandates brought on by the mayor. Most just never came back. I saw a lot of empty places.

You have to incentivize businesses to operate in bad areas, low taxes and regulation. The Democrat approach is the exact opposite.

Then, they say “Why are you leaving?” when businesses decide to  cut bait.

Or do work for the City, so you benefit from the fleecing of the tax base.

Like we always say, "it's like Monopoly, we are just playing with other people's money."

I would agree that Chicago's insane current government is in large part to blame.

From what my friend told me, Chicago is a massive city. I'm assuming these store closures are all in the city's south side.

Two on the South side, one on the North, and one on the West.
