George had freakish power. Hit harder than Sonny Liston. Talk about heavy hands. Even relatively glancing shots would lay people out. I personally will never forget his k.o. of Michael Moorer. The punch that ended Moorer looked like nothing special,  a very casual 1-2 combination.  George threw that combo at least a dozen times in the fight and by the 10th rd. His punches had lost a little steam but with George all it took was one punch. Who knows how great he would've been had he not retired for 10 years at his peak.

Some observations:

The Russian was a good fighter.
Foreman took some solid shots, especially early in the fight.
Foreman was not a great technical boxer.  Kind of sloppy.  Got hit a lot.
Why did the ref stop the fight?
Foreman described as "19 years old, working as an instructor in a Job Corp Center".  That's a laugh.

Just watched this movie the other night on netflix, Big George. It just goes to show how poor direction and production can fuck up a relatively good story. Movie sucked ass.

Yup,no fist raised in a black power salute like the track athletes that won that year.......that incident took eyes off of Foremans impressive American hero type victory as it was all the news talked about.

One of my favorite boxers ever, good announcer/play by play man,and seems like an overall great person............he made a damn good grill too.  :D
