I didn't watch it (yet), but Owen shouldn't be included in there since his death was an accident due to mechanical problems, not the lifestyle itself.
If I had to guess, I would say it is because these guys are on the road a lot more now days and are expected to operate on a much higher intensity level that grinds them down until they are battling addictions of some kind and have numerous health problems cropping up. Heart disease seems to be the most common. Which is it the drugs they take or the shitty food they probably eat most of the time while traveling, or a combination of both?
The lifestyle used to be much slower and without all the days away from home. Hell, even the matches were slower. When was the last time you saw a match where they did a test of strength, or worked an arm bar the way the Andersons used to?
